DR. ELISSAVET NTEMOU
Biography
Dr. Elissavet Ntemou studied Biology at the Aristotle University (Thessaloniki, Greece) and received her MMedSci in Assisted Reproduction Technology from the University of Nottingham (Nottingham, UK). In 2014, she joined the Biology of the Testis research group as a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher (“GROWSPERM” consortium). She obtained her PhD in Medical Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels, Belgium) with her thesis “Experimental approaches to improve immature testis tissue transplantation for fertility restoration”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr Ellen Goossens and co-supervision of Prof. Dr Stefan Schlatt (University of Münster, Germany).
Following three years of postdoctoral research (Research Laboratory on Human Reproduction, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium and Research Laboratory of Reproductive Biology, University Hospital of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark), Elissavet re-joined the lab. She is currently working on investigating the effect of potentially gonadotoxic substances on spermatogenesis.
